Norm Schilling is Las Vegas’s favorite desert garden guru! Nevadans can hear Norm on Nevada Public Radio, KNPR 88.9 FM, as the co-host of Desert Bloom, a weekly program on gardening in the desert southwest. When he’s not on the radio or running the company, Norm performs a variety of workshops and classes around the valley on gardening and tree care, as well as contributing articles to local and industry publications. He is noted for his open passion for horticulture, as well as his vision for transforming urban living space with sustainable, functional, and beautiful landscaping practices.
Norm has been involved in the green industry in Southern Nevada since 1988 and a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture since 1996. Prior to founding Schilling Horticulture Group in 2003, he was the Horticulture Supervisor for the University of Nevada Las Vegas Arboretum, and Lead Groundskeeper at the Desert Demonstration Gardens and Las Vegas Valley Water District. Norm holds a degree in Ornamental Horticulture from the College of Southern Nevada, and acts as a charter member of the Southern Nevada Arborist Group.
